California Hydrogen Leadership Summit
June 16-17, 2024 | Sacramento, California

The 2024 California Hydrogen Leadership Summit gathered over 500 community, government, industry, and labor leaders in hydrogen to discuss the role hydrogen must play in achieving California’s environmental and economic goals and the importance of supportive policy to enable and accelerate a robust hydrogen economy and workforce.

Speakers highlighted the urgent need to use hydrogen to decarbonize California while stimulating economic growth, reducing air pollution, and protecting vulnerable communities. Key takeaways included leveraging federal programs and private investments to meet the growing demand for clean hydrogen, creating over 222,000 jobs through California’s ARCHES H2 Hub with a focus on disadvantaged communities, and emphasizing the importance of supportive public policy and private-public collaboration to advance decarbonized hydrogen and fuel cell systems.

The 2024 Summit was possible with the generous support of our sponsors, including Presenting Sponsors Accelera by Cummins Inc., Chevron, Emerson/Caltrol, PG&E, Sierra Energy/Sierra Railroad Corporation, and Southern California Gas Company.

California Hydrogen Leadership Summit
June 19-20, 2023 | Sacramento, California

The 2023 California Hydrogen Leadership Summit brought together more than 500 policymakers, hydrogen industry leaders, and clean energy experts to discuss hydrogen-focused policies and projects which could accelerate hydrogen commercialization and drive progress on California’s climate and air quality goals.

Summit speakers shared insights into how hydrogen can serve as a critical pillar of the state’s environmental and economic development strategy, how fuel cell electric vehicles can help the state reduce emissions and achieve net-zero goals, what legislative and regulatory actions are needed to expand hydrogen production, use, and storage, and hydrogen’s benefits for environmental justice and disadvantaged communities. A key conclusion: cross-sector collaboration and new alliances are crucial to develop hydrogen projects and clean up hard-to-decarbonize sectors of the economy.
